Elche have earned 1 point from their 7 games, and naturally it is less than their performance stats suggest they still are the worst performing team in the league.

Their latest match away at Rayo was at least partly promising, and it was the first time they won the performance statistics but were unlucky this time. Yet, another loss, another hit for the morale. The suspension of Verdu is also not helpful even if he was out also last time. A few doubts there as well, but they can not really hide behind injuries.

Maybe the managerial change will help? Francisco got fired last week, and Alberto Gallego from the reserve teams takes over. It is a debut for him on this level, but he has successfully promoted two teams recently on lower levels, Ibiza and Huelva. Especially Ibiza was impressive, but still we are talking about minor clubs.

In the interviews he naturally says all the right things, but the main problem with Elche is the same than Cadiz has, the players are not very good and Elche have been riding their luck on this level for some time.
