After 8 years, Partizan is back in the Euroleague! Tonight they are going to play against Berlin Alba which is part of the tournament for the last 3 years but hasn't played with great success as the team hasn't been able to reach playoffs. While many teams change their roster during the offseason a lot, Alba didn't make many changes as almost every one of their core roster is still with the team - only Oscar Da Silva and Ben Lammers left the team. There's one significant loss in a different way though. Last season Marcus Eriksson was the 2nd scoring leader on the team but because of an injury, he won't be able to play.

The roster situation even better is for Partizan because all of the 7 best scorers in the last season are still with the team! Kevin Punter has been so great as the rumors about playing for the national team of Serbia are starting to circulate. Although the team played in the Eurocup last season, many players have played a lot in the Euroleague - Punter, Leday, Lessort, Exum, Nunnally and Papapetrou. The last three players joined the Partizan during the offseason and they are very good acquisitions.

We can't forget about the head coach Zeljko Obradovic who is one of the greatest, even possibly the greatest, of all time in the Euroleague. His experience can't be replaced and he knows how to prepare teams for the games. Yes, it isn't so easy to play under him because his methods can be questionable but if so many players stayed with the team that means he's doing the correct things.

Alba started the season with 2 wins in the German league but those weren't so comfortable - 3 point victory against a lower-level team on the home court and 10 point victory on the road against the FIBA Champions League team. Partizan has played one game in the ABA league and they managed it very well because the victory was with a 24-point margin. If we are talking about tonight's game, I'm going with Partizan as that team is more talented and in the battle of head coaches, Partizan has a very huge advantage.
