The new Euroleague season is here! In the first matchday, I'm looking at the game between Bayern and Fenerbahce. During the offseason, Fenerbahce had a lot of changes. First of all, there is a new coach in Dimitris Itoudis. Many changes were in the roster as well, for example, Nando De Colo and Jan Vesely left the team while Nick Calathes and Scottie Wilbekin joined the team. Out of the seven best last season's scorers on the team, only three are still with the team.

NBA champion Nemanja Bjelica is one of the Fenerbahce additions but he's injured. Devin Booker is back on court but could probably not be at 100%. The results in the friendly games weren't so good, and Fenerbahce had only two wins against Turkish teams. In the Turkish Supercup, the team lost to Anadolu Efes but the first Turkish league game was difficult and Fenerbahce won against Bahcesehir only because of a great 3rd quarter (27:8). Before the game against Bayern, Melih Mahmutoglu said that the team will need time to get used to each other and that is a very huge sign about the possible outcome of the game.

There have been some changes on the Bayern roster also but only two out of last season's eight best scorers have left the team. Andrea Trinchieri is the coach of Bayern for the third straight season and almost every player is familiar with the system. The team has secured already two wins in the German league. Last season Bayern won 9 out of 14 home games in the Euroleague. I like Bayern's chances better in this game just because there have been fewer changes on the roster and the team is starting the season with a healthy roster.

I already told what one Fenerbahce player said. The head coach of the team Itoudis didn't sound so sure about the game either because he said that team is going to try to find its identity during the game. There are too many signs that give a favorable outcome for Bayern and that's why I'm going with the home team.
