NEWCASTLE - BOURNEMOUTH

It is strange to see these two teams tied at points.

Newcastle probably deserved more but the schedule was not easy on them (Liverpool, Manchester City, Wolves..) and I reckon they will be a force at home, playing a very good game against champions Man City and also should have won against a potent Palace side in the last round, where drew 0:0 but had a goal disallowed by VAR.

Against a similar opponent as today, Forest, they were really dominant and I expect a similar type of display here as they need to return to winning days and they should storm against this weak Cherries from the very first minute.

The home team has become very strong, especially playing at home. With Isak on their team they have gained more attacking threat, and with their wingers on form the team has become very dangerous.

On the other hand, I do not rate this Bournemouth very good. In fact, they are relegation favorite number 1 for me (we must remember that they are newly promoted this season). They overachieved so far having played some crap or out-of-form teams like Villa but against serious teams, they were really battered (9:0 vs Liverpool, 0:3 vs Arsenal, 4:0 vs Man City…).

Even against Forest they were 2-0 down at some point but some strange things happened after the break and basically Forest gifted them 3 points with some serious defensive errors, plus they are already managerless and Eddie Howe should know this team very well.

Missings also not helping the home cause but there should be enough firepower to outclass this weak Bournemouth, unbeaten in the last two while defensively Newcastle has looked really good at times with Pope in great form, so a clean sheet and a controlled game are to be expected.

We know how fragile is Bournemouth, especially playing away from home, so I expect a home win here. The asian handicap -1 is a great here bet if you can take it.

VITESSE - VOLENDAM

Vitesse and Volendam had a very bad start of the season. Both teams won just 1 of their first 6 games this season.

Last weekend Vitesse lost 1-0 against FC Utrecht, where they could score some goals but missed their chances. That’s also the biggest problem of Vitesse because they scored just 6 goals in 6 games. But I think it’s just a matter of time to see them scoring goals again, as they have the quality to be in the top positions, as they did last season where they finished 6th on the table.

They have a good squad, with players like Bero who is a great midfielder and already 2 goals in their last 3 games.

On the other hand, opponent FC Volendam is a newly promoted team after several years in lower categories. Their transfer market has been so poor.

They have also 4 points after 6 games but they gets already 20 goals behind. They conceded a lot against top teams: NEC (1:4), PSV (7:1) and Sparta (4:0). But also another average teams like Nijmegen scored them 4 goals. In fact they have the worst defense of the Eredivisie after 20 goals conceded in just 6 rounds, more than 3 per game.

But that’s normal, Volendam is one of the weakest teams in the league. Both strikers Muhren and Veerman aren’t very fast so Volendam couldn’t play on the counter attack. Their chances in this game are not so high because although both teams have the same points, hosts have a much better squad and should improve their level, while guests are a very limited team and will struggle a lot against top teams like Vitesse.
