The second day of Eurobasket TOP16 phase is here! We had a lot of interesting games yesterday and we do hope that this is going to continue today. The first matchup is going to be between Ukraine and Poland. I have to say that performance of the Ukrainians has been very surprising in a good way. In the first game of the tournament they crushed Great Britain, then it followed by a tough win against Estonia and they surprised the Italians by beating them on the home floor. This loss was very important for the Italians - because of that, they are playing against Serbia in the first round. Against Greece, Ukraine played good only one half but against Croatia, silly mistakes led to a loss but it gave 2nd position in the standings nonetheless.

Poland's story is a bit different. They crushed the Czech Republic in the opening game, which was followed by a big loss against Finland. Tough games were against Israel and the Netherlands but they didn't have a chance against Serbia. If we are comparing team stats, the edge goes to Ukraine as they are better in most of the categories. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk has been excellent this tournament, Issuf Sanon and Volodymyr Herun helps on offense and right now it is the time for other players to step up as well because Ponitka & Co will give very big attention to Mykhailiuk.

Ukraine is a bit better team. They showed all tournament long that they can play against any team and group D was much stronger than group C. It is going to be a close battle but Ukraine is going to cover the handicap. Ukrainians are very motivated to make some kind of joy to their nation.

The last TOP16 game is going to be between Greece and the Czech Republic. We all know what Giannis Antetokounmpo is capable of. I don't know why bookmakers think that is going to be so close game. Czech has some strong guys (Balvin and Auda) who could straight up with Giannis but he's playing bully basketball in the NBA all season long and this is not going to be something new to him.

The Czech Republic guaranteed a spot in the TOP16 only in the last game by beating Israel. They started well, but blew the lead in the last quarter, although were able to lead the game to victory. I have faith in Giannis & Co. They are the main favorites right to win the whole thing and Greece should easily cover the handicap as they are clearly a better team in this matchup. This should be the most uninteresting TOP16 game but for us, it is going very fun because Greece will cover the handicap!
