Fulham shocked many when they almost went to victory in the league opener against Liverpool. With a quarter of an hour left on the clock, the London team led the game, but a late equalizer by Mohamed Salah meant that the teams had to share the pot. Still a great achievement by newcomers Fulham, of course. They followed up the premiere by cruising away against Wolves, in yet another impressive performance. If it wasn't for striker Aleksandar Mitrovic's penalty miss there, it could indeed have ended differently. Fulham had a great last season, they have a good team but they depend a lot on Mitrovica who literally brought them into the Premier League by himself because he scored 43 goals in 44 games last season!!! Today, Fulham will play without two very important players, Harry Wilson and Manor Solomon are injured and it will be a big handicap for the team led by Marco Silva from the bench. Brentford is another team that started the season well. The closest half-Danish club played 2-2 away to Leicester in the opener and then won by a whopping 4-0 against Manchester United in round two. Thomas Frank is undeniably getting the best out of what is on paper a fairly mediocre squad, and from a team that was newcomers to the Premier League as recently as last year. When Fulham and Brentford, two positive surprises, are pitted against each other, it becomes difficult to predict a result. I still feel that Brentford has proven more and that it probably has both greater stability and better momentum right now. Fulham and Brentford have played six matches so far, Brentford hasn't lost a single one so I expect them to remain unbeaten today at Craven Cottage. A draw is in my opinion most likely outcome today.
