There is no doubt that Sevilla has established itself as one of the top teams in La Liga. For the 3rd year in a row, they have taken 4th place, behind Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and new champions Real Madrid. This means that we will once again see them play in the Champions League. The question is whether Sevilla manages to repeat the success. Much is against them and that they fail. Manager Julen Lopetegui has lost both of his centre-backs, in the form of Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos. And that the Swedish full-back Ludwig Augustinsson is on loan to Aston Villa. We saw problems in the defence in the premiere against Osasuna, where Ezequiel Avila netted after just 9 minutes of play. Rafa Mir who scored 10 goals in the last season, equalized just a minute later. Still, it was a loss after Osasuna were awarded a penalty which Aimar Oroz managed to turn to a goal. Sevilla created a lot with 66% ball possession but was also very careless.

Valladolid lost the first game against Villarreal at home. They owned the ball more and got more shots both on goal and outside. But the ball just wouldn't go into the goal. Instead, it was Nicolas Jackson who netted for Villarreal at the start of the 2nd half. Alex Baena netted twice again, with 10 minutes remaining. Of course, Valladolid didn't quite have the sharpness either. The defence was weak at times and offered many mistakes. But the attacking game maintained a high level. As both Sevilla and Valladolid are sharp in the final third, there is a good chance that we will see goals from both teams. Both teams to score pays well here as bookies expect a tight clash. As for the winner of this match, I prefer Sevilla because of their home field and greater experience. This will not be an easy job for Sevilla so I bypass the -1.5 handicap because I expect a 2-1 or 3-2 win for the home team.
