Alkmaar lost the first game to Dundee 0:1, so they have a lot of catching up to do. Hosts needs to win by at least those 2 goals to avoid overtime.The opening match was statistically relatively even. However, this does not mean that the teams are balanced, the difference between the two teams is simply there. Alkmaar has long been one of the above-average teams in the Dutch Eredivisie, specifically finishing in 5th place last year. That's plain and simple XY levels higher than Scotland's Dundee. Also, at home stadium, Dutch team is really something different then on away. A support of fans and the need for a win will decide here with the quality gap in two matches.

Despite the fact that Dundee only finished in 4th place in Scotland, quite a distance behind third-placed Hearts (not to mention both Glasgow clubs). The quality is simply not that good in Dundee and many agree it was a lucky first leg result. Given that the difference in quality should be quite large, especially with Alkmaar playing at home today, and given that Alkmaar need to play, even though they're losing...trying for a higher handicap seems like the right choice to me.
