Uzbekistan is doing really good lately, they made good performance in friendlies to prepare this competition and they are confirming it.

They finished first of the group A with 2 wins & 1 draw for 8 goals scored & 1 goal conceded. They made a big win over Qatar 6-0 but of course it was an unusual performance. On their last game against Iran they played for nothing and they showed very good things on the field with 8 changes in their line up.

Iraq on their side finished second of the group B with 1 win & 2 draws for 5 goals scored & 3 goals conceded. Except against Kuwait they didn’t show good things. Against Australia they were with 11 against 10 during 73’ and they couldn’t win they even conceded a goal first.

Very good spot here where I rate Uzbekistan much stronger, the support of their fans will be big for this game, even on game without any meaning they got a great support so a quarter final will be very hot. It’s clearly one of the team who can win the tournament, they are known to be solid defensively with the football they are playing but this time it changed and they are much more offensively minded and is providing a very good football.

As I said, schedule is bad in this competition and players have too much games to play without a lot of rest, the good thing is that Uzbekistan could rest heavily on the last game while Iraq had to go with their best 11 for the third games in a row. Iraq hasn’t a deep roster so even during their games they don’t have too many choices to make replacement.

With players as Norchaev, Jaloliddinov, Erkinov, Khoshimov etc I expect Uzbekistan to dominate this game and win 2-0 or 1-0.
