Well, Strasbourg is one of the pleasant surprises in French Ligue 1 this season but is surprising for those who don't follow closely this league. The club from the east of the country, on the border with Germany, is doing a good job for years behind with the everything around and inside the club, and for me, they are one of the top 3 healthiest clubs in the league when it comes to the basic football club things. Strasbourg is now undefeated in Ligue 1 in the previous 10 games, while at home they won 4 out of the last 6 matches. The team is 5th placed and are in a battle even for champions league places, which would be an amazing and huge success for such club, in competition with some other big names as Monaco, Lyon, Lille, and Rennes.. Well, for the Champions League they need to end in top3 positions, and the third-placed team is today's rival Rennes. To be honest, not many people also thought Rennes can do such a great season but here we are, Rennes sits behind Marseille and are the second-best attack in the league with 69 goals scored in 32 games. However, it's fair to say they are not that good on the away field, as most of those goals were scored at the home field ( 41 at home, 28 on the road) but anyway, huge respect for Rennes and the job done so far. In the last match, Rennes lost against a direct competitor in the league for the Champio0ns League - Monaco, and now the situation got really complicated and interesting to follow. Strasbourg are 3pts behind Rennes and will surely have huge support from the fans in this match, and Strasbourg is really good recently at home so I am sure we have some nice value in two fonts bet, 1X or home win or draw double chance as we say. I respect Rennes but think they might get a bit tired now in the late part of the season as they were in Europe for a whole season, lost against Leicester and this could affect their chances for 2/3 position and CL. I give my trust to Strasbourg as I love their unity on the field, and the relationship between fans and players, the whole package looks with a great vibe, and think they will stay undefeated in this game too. Won't predict a result but would like to see a home victory for sure!
